  • Sz3 slide rod car with shackle and plunger exists only with a stirrup; there is no Sz3 slide rod car with shackle only.
  • NTR slide rods are different from the Ocean traveller range and are not made as spares. A Sz1 or Sz2 slide rod car converts to balls with the conversion kit below; Sz3 conversion is not possible.

  • Size 3 single/double control line: use the Sz2 kit or a 60mm Racing footblock. Plain bearings; ball-bearing sheaves have yellow sides.
  • Size 3 loads are too high for cleats: use a clutch on the deck. The NTR car cleat uses different plates from the Ocean traveller range.
  • Some size 3 becket installations use the size 2 part.

  • Horizontal (HR, "round the mast"): often used for self-tacking jibs and on multihull mainsheet tracks.
  • Vertical concave (VC, "ends up"): self-tacking jibs and mainsheet tracks; the car runs to the end as the control line is eased.
  • Vertical convex (VX, "ends down"): track follows the deck curve; not very efficient, the car tries to stay central.
