What is the Facnor FD furler?

The Facnor FD is a headsail furling and reefing system built around aluminum foil extrusions that fit over the forestay, a lower drum that takes the furling line, and an upper halyard swivel that lets the sail rotate. Because it is modular, most wear items - swivels, feeders, extrusion sections, screws and pins - can be replaced individually rather than replacing the whole unit.
